Nicholls Campers to Present "Guys and Dolls Jr."

Damon Runyon’s tuneful tale of the guys and dolls who populate New York City in the 1940s will come to life in Talbot Theater on the Nicholls State University campus as the summer Performing Arts Camp presents “Guys and Dolls Jr.” June 23 to 25.

The junior version of the classical musical comedy that has enjoyed several revivals since its Broadway debut in 1950 features 78 talented young singers, dancers and actors, many of whom are making their acting debuts in the show. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Campers range in age from 7 to 16 years, and represent more than two dozen different schools in the Houma-Thibodaux area and even a couple from Texas.

Alex Plaisance of Thibodaux plays the title role of Sky Masterson, a smooth talking gambler, and Arielle Domingue of Houma is Salvation Army “doll” Sarah Brown.
