I came to Celina High School to start a theatre program from scratch.  Each year our season has included three mainstage shows including a fall play, musical, and one act play competition piece.  In one year the program expanded from 75 total students on both the high school and middle school campuses to almost 300 students on both campuses.  In the second year of inception, a middle school theatre teacher was added, a charter of the  International Thespian Society was started, and we began to offer technical theatre classes to high school students.  In its third year the theatre program is going strong with the addition of a theatre production class which hosts a murder mystery dinner fundraiser production and a student directed one act play showcase.  Students in the program are beginning to take leadership roles and many were offered scholarships this year to study theatre at the university level.
